At our recent Community Connect we had the facility to ask questions. The majority of these have now been added to our FAQ page on the website. You can link to this page here.
If you have a question that you would like answered please email, email@example.com.
I would love to know what your policies around bullying will be? Every school seems to have a no bullying policy but each school we have been to it is actually never inforced at all and swept under the carpet. Would be so wonderful if a new school such as yourself took a new and fresh stance on bullying that focused on the victim as opposed to helping the bully first.
Thanks for your question. We will be developing our procedures over the remainder of the year. We acknowledge that bullying happens in schools and workplaces. We will seek to identify between rude, mean and bullying behaviour and respond accordingly. We will have a zero tolerance to bullying and look to support the victim. Our values will guide all decision making. Empathy and responsibility relate closely to encouraging tolerant and inclusive practices.
Will this school have a BYOD policy? If so, what ages?
ICT and policies around its provision are still being developed. We anticipate that we will offer the opportunity for students to bring a device to school, we will be able to work with all devices but iPads fit well into our philosophy about the use of ICT as a tool for learning and creativity. We will provide devices for use at school.
Will there any outdoor basketball/netball hoops available for use outside school hours or weekends?
Great question, we haven’t yet planned our outside landscaping or play areas. This is definitely something we can put into the mix.
The uniform shown at the last community evening looks great however I have two children that are very allergic to wool and wearing merino directly against their skin is very uncomfortable and leads to skin irritations – will you have an alternative fabric available for a school jumper???
They will be welcome to wear something navy underneath their polo during the winter and we will have the soft shell jacket for outside wear. If that doesn’t work as a solution happy to chat.
Hi, the dodge ball pit at Lincoln Primary is a huge hit with alot of the kids. Will there be one at Ararira Springs Primary?
We haven’t seen it yet but will definitely check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
Just wondering why the uniform doesn’t have a jersey please?
