2025 End of Year Progress Graphs
The end-of-year progress graphs for students (English Year 0-6 and Maths Year 0-8) will be live on Friday, 12 December. English progress in Years 7-8 will be released in a statement at the bottom of Year 7-8 children’s reading and writing comments.
The Overall Teacher Judgements (OTJs) regarding progress that your child will receive in Term 4 are best-fit judgements based on how your child is achieving against the new learning goals of the October 2024 English and Maths curricula. These new goals are more ambitious than before, so your child’s OTJ may not always match their current year level, particularly in the early stages of this new change. As the Minister of Education explains, “The refreshed curriculum is internationally benchmarked and more demanding — particularly in lower primary maths.”
OTJs are not an exact science but offer a broad view of your child’s learning. Our teachers are also working to ‘back-fill’ any knowledge gaps to support a smooth transition and ensure strong foundations for future learning.
The curriculum has changed again as of October 2025. This change will impact future reporting. We will work with the Ministry of Education again to understand and implement the changes released without notice this term. We appreciate that another change can be frustrating; however, we are bound to implement the updates to curriculum, assessment and reporting. Thanks for your patience.
