Not long to go now until we release your cherubs into your care for the duration of the summer break. School will finish on Friday 20th December at 1pm.

We invite you to our final hui on Thursday 19th December at 2 pm. This is the chance to see our fabulous kapa haka perform. The whole school have been learning waiata with Whaea Hinehau and Whaea Chloe and are excited to share their items you. We will farewell our Year 8 students and hand out certificates to Year 4 - 8 leaders.

As the year ends and we reflect I am immensely proud of the wonderful school community that we have become. I feel like we are working in partnership with you and that Ararira is a school to which we all belong. It has been a year of firsts and has been wonderful to see the children grow over the year.

Thank you to the teaching and learning team and to you for joining us on this journey and entrusting your tamariki to us.

This will be the final panui for the year. Learning comments will be available on Friday and you will be able to see next years classes on Monday.

Thank you for a wonderful year, we have loved working with you, growing our learners, school and community.

Enjoy the summer break,
Claire and the team

Children Living Our Mission and Vision

The plight of the wildlife in the Australian fires touched the heart of some of our children. Our school vision is 'enhancing our world' and our mission, 'it starts with me!'
These young learners are doing both. Eva-Rose, Olive, Libby Hunter and Jacob organised a mufti day and sold iceblocks, raising over $500. Lucy is selling bows as a fundraiser. A third group (Mya, Isabella, Em, Paige, Neve ) have sold raffle tickets and lucky dips

We recently invited you to a morning tea where you had the chance to feedback on your child's start to school and how we could make this better. A big thank you to the parents that made time to attend.

If you were unable to attend but would still like to contribute, please take the time to complete this short survey. We would love to hear from you.

We have been communicating with True Fleece Merino for the best way to care for their jumpers. They offer three care instructions;

  1. Buy the correct size to avoid extra wear and tear on long cuffs
  2. Use a liquid, eco friendly wool wash product
  3. Avoid drying the garment in the sun.
